Trifecta Collective 收购 Medical Spa Show,并与美国医学水疗协会达成长期战略合作
Communication, Trust and Shared Vision: A Look at Trifecta Collective’s Powerful Work with Association Partners
Trifecta Collective 已从 American Med Spa Association(AmSpa)手中收购 Medical Spa Show(MSS),并与 AmSpa 建立长期战略合作,保留现有 MSS 团队。
ARLINGTON — Trifecta Collective acquired the Medical Spa Show (MSS) from the American Med Spa Association (AmSpa), entering into a long-term strategic partnership with AmSpa.
This is the fifth transaction Corporate Solutions has closed with Trifecta Collective in the last four years. The prior transactions were the North American Trailer Dealers Association (NATDA) Trailer Show, International Mass Timber Conference & Expo, TRANSACT, which is powered by the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), and the Canadian Concrete Expo.
Trade Show Executive (TSE) sat down with Rick McConnell, Trifecta Collective’s CEO, to discuss this deal and how the organization works with association partners to power event success.
ANDREW: What inspired the acquisition of MSS?
RICK: At Trifecta, we’re very deliberate about the events we bring into our family. We look for market-leading events in healthy, growing industries with strong fundamentals and a clear path to sustainable, long-term growth.
MSS checked every one of those boxes, but what really stood out for us was the people and the community behind it. Medical aesthetics is one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving segments of healthcare and wellness, and AmSpa and the MSS team have done an exceptional job building a highly respected event with a loyal and engaged community.
We saw an incredible foundation, a strong cultural fit and tremendous opportunity to build on that success. It’s exactly the type of event and partnership we’re excited to welcome into the Trifecta Collective family.
ANDREW: How will this event enhance Trifecta’s portfolio?

RICK: It’s a genuinely exciting addition. MSS brings another market-leading event into the Trifecta portfolio in one of the fastest-growing segments of healthcare and wellness.
The show has a strong foundation, a loyal and engaged community, and tremendous growth potential.
Our long-term partnership with AmSpa also brings valuable industry expertise, established relationships and a shared commitment to building on that success.
Every event we add broadens the collective expertise, capabilities and reach of Trifecta. MSS provides an exciting opportunity to further diversify our portfolio while leveraging the resources, best practices and shared knowledge across our organization.
That kind of growth doesn’t just strengthen our portfolio. It creates opportunities for our teams, enhances the value we deliver to customers and partners, and makes the entire Trifecta Collective stronger.
Equally important, we’re not approaching this opportunity without relevant industry knowledge and experience. Through our broader network of partners, we have access to valuable expertise and firsthand experience in the medical aesthetics industry.
Combined with AmSpa’s deep industry knowledge, the strength of the existing MSS team and Trifecta’s proven track record of growing market-leading events, we believe we’re exceptionally well positioned to support the show’s continued success and long-term growth.
ANDREW: How will Trifecta enhance this event?
RICK: We bring extensive trade show industry experience, but just as importantly, we bring resources, proven best practices and a genuinely collaborative company culture.
Our team has a strong track record of taking successful events and making them even stronger, and we’re confident we can do the same for MSS.
Our goal is simple: Build on the strong foundation the MSS team and AmSpa have created, preserve what makes the event special and leverage our collective expertise and resources to accelerate its growth and long-term success.
ANDREW: How does the Trifecta Collective team work so effectively with industry associations? What are some best practices that have driven success?
RICK: For us, it all starts with communication, trust and a shared vision for success. We invest early in building strong relationships with key stakeholders, establishing clear roles and responsibilities, and creating an environment where both teams feel empowered to collaborate, share ideas and solve problems together.
We recognize that our association partners bring invaluable industry expertise, relationships and credibility, and we make it a priority to respect and leverage those strengths.
Just as importantly, we take a long-term approach. Strong partnerships aren’t built overnight. They require consistent communication, transparency, mutual respect and a willingness to work through challenges together.
We don’t view our association partners as outside organizations, but as an extension of our team. That philosophy has been instrumental in our success with NATDA and ETA, and it’s the same approach we’re bringing to our new partnership with AmSpa.
Ultimately, when both organizations are aligned and invested in each other’s success, the event and the industry it serves are the real beneficiaries.

ANDREW: Could you describe the associations Trifecta works with and how these relationships have developed?

RICK: One of the things that makes Trifecta unique is the strength of our relationships with the associations behind our events. We have three different models across our portfolio, but what they all have in common is a shared commitment to serving their industries, strengthening their communities and growing their events.
NATDA is the member association behind The Trailer Show, Trifecta’s very first acquisition. We purchased the association along with the event and retained its staff, and that decision has paid dividends. With Trifecta’s culture and resources behind them, the leaders of that team have grown into true champions for their industry and leaders within our company. Watching that growth has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
We purchased TRANSACT from ETA in 2024, and it’s a very different dynamic because we don’t own the association. Instead, we chose a long-term partnership. ETA remains involved in the show, and our teams work in close alignment to produce TRANSACT each year. We don’t see them as a vendor or a stakeholder on the sidelines; we consider them a strategic partner and a true extension of the show team.
Our newest relationship is with AmSpa, the sponsoring association behind MSS. … Similar to our relationship with ETA, we acquired the event, but not the association. What makes this partnership particularly exciting is the strong community AmSpa has built within the medical aesthetics industry. AmSpa brings deep industry expertise, trusted relationships and a loyal membership base, while Trifecta brings the resources, operational expertise and investment needed to support the show’s next phase of growth.
We are retaining the existing MSS team and working closely with AmSpa to build on what has made the event so successful. Our goal isn’t to change the identity of the show, but to preserve its strong sense of community while creating opportunities to expand its reach, enhance the experience and support long-term growth.
What ties all three relationships together is our philosophy that successful events are built on strong industry partnerships. Whether we own the association or work alongside it, we believe the best results come when both organizations are aligned around a common vision.
We bring the business expertise and resources to grow the event, while our association partners bring the industry knowledge, credibility and community connections that make these shows so valuable. It’s a model that has worked exceptionally well for us, and one we see as an important part of Trifecta’s continued growth.
ANDREW: How do these relationships benefit Trifecta?
RICK: In my experience, strong partnerships between an event and its sponsoring association almost always lead to stronger, more successful events.
Associations bring invaluable industry knowledge, established relationships, credibility and a deep understanding of the communities they serve. Trifecta brings the operational expertise, resources and strategic focus to help those events grow and reach their full potential.
When both organizations are aligned on vision, expectations and execution, we can make better decisions, identify new opportunities and deliver greater value to the industry.
Everyone benefits: attendees, exhibitors, association members and both organizations. For Trifecta, these relationships also help us build deeper connections within the industries we serve and create a strong foundation for sustainable, long-term growth.
It’s truly one of the best win-win opportunities in our industry.
ANDREW: What advice would you give about working with industry associations?
RICK: Treat the relationship like the long-term investment it is. It takes time, compromise and diligence to build real trust, and setting expectations early creates the environment where that trust can grow.
My biggest piece of advice: Don’t underestimate what an association can do for your event. Handled well, they become your biggest ally and your most valuable asset.
