Hosted by Andrew Nugent, the six-episode first season brings event professionals to the table for candid conversations about the decisions, challenges, and people behind the events and experiences we all love.

BOSTON, Mass - Stagedge, a Boston-bred event production and creative partner with more than 50 years of industry experience, today announced the launch of EdgeWork, a new podcast created by event people, for event people. Hosted by Stagedge Executive Producer Andrew Nugent, EdgeWork brings planners, producers, creatives, operators, venue professionals, and industry partners together to talk about how events really happen.

Each episode gets into the parts of the work that rarely make it into the final photos or recap video: what went sideways, what the team had to solve, which decisions mattered, and what everyone learned along the way.

“We work in an industry where some of the best stories happen before anybody ever walks into the room,” said Nugent. “They’re the things that go sideways, the decisions you have to make quickly, and the people who jump in and figure it out. That’s what I wanted EdgeWork to get into.”

The moderated roundtable format moves beyond the traditional one-on-one interview. Four guests join Nugent for each episode, bringing their own experiences, perspectives, and a personal item connected to the conversation.

Throughout its first season, EdgeWork explores topics including:

  • What happens when plans change and everything is on the line
  • How event business is really won, lost, and sometimes salvaged
  • The ways distinctive venues shape the experience
  • Where creative ideas come from and what happens when they meet reality
  • What corporate events can learn from live entertainment
  • How destinations, local culture, technology, and changing expectations are shaping what comes next

Season One features professionals from across the events industry, including corporate planners, agency leaders, designers, producers, venue teams, destination experts, entertainment professionals, and Stagedge team members. The people and topics change from episode to episode, but the idea stays the same: get experienced people around the table, ask honest questions, and see where the conversation goes.

“Once we got everyone around the table, the conversations really took on a life of their own,” Nugent added. “We learned a lot, we laughed a lot, and we got into the things event people don’t always have a chance to talk about. I’m really excited for people to hear it.”

All six episodes of EdgeWork Season One will be released on September 22nd. The complete season will be available on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. Learn more at www.edgeworkpod.com. Pull up a seat.
