India’s ambition to strengthen its position in the global food and beverage market is gaining momentum, with Indusfood emerging as a major business-to-business platform connecting Indian producers with international buyers. The next edition of the exhibition is scheduled for January 8-10, 2027, at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Organised by the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI), with government support, Indusfood brings together businesses across food processing, agricultural commodities, packaging, ingredients, retail and distribution. Its stated focus is to facilitate international sourcing, expand export opportunities and encourage partnerships across the food value chain.

The scale of the platform was evident at Indusfood 2026, held from January 8-10. According to TPCI’s post-event announcement, the ninth edition attracted more than 2,200 exhibitors and over 15,000 international buyers from more than 120 countries. The organiser also reported over US$1.5 billion in on-the-spot business opportunities across 125,000-plus square metres of exhibition space. These are organiser-reported figures, rather than independently audited trade outcomes.

The exhibition spans categories ranging from dairy, seafood, fresh produce and processed foods to plant-based alternatives, confectionery, beverages and food ingredients. This breadth reflects the importance of connecting agricultural production with processing, value addition, market access and international distribution.

For India, the larger challenge is converting trade-fair connections into sustained export growth, repeat orders and stronger participation by smaller food businesses. Quality compliance, traceability, competitive logistics and adherence to importing countries’ food-safety standards will remain critical.

As Indusfood prepares for 2027, its long-term significance will depend not only on exhibition scale, but also on measurable commercial partnerships and durable gains for India’s food-processing and export ecosystem.
