“萨达尔·帕特尔：生平与时代”展览在印度德里开幕

The exhibition ‘Sardar Patel: Life and Times’ was inaugurated at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, on 31 October 2026, coinciding with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Organised by the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR), the exhibition presents the life, leadership and contribution of Patel to India’s nation-building and the integration of princely states after Independence.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and other dignitaries. The exhibition formed part of the commemorative programme marking National Unity Day, observed annually on 31 October to honour Patel’s role in national integration.

The occasion also featured the release of Sardar Patel: An Illustrated Biography, published by the National Book Trust (NBT-India) and prepared by ICHR. The publication was released in both English and Hindi. ICHR Chairman Raghuvendra Tanwar introduced the book, while NBT Director Yuvraj Malik was also present.

The exhibition and accompanying publication bring attention to Patel’s role in the freedom movement, his leadership during India’s formative years and his contribution to the political unification of the country. Through historical material and the accompanying narrative, the initiative seeks to present his legacy to a wider audience.

The exhibition adds a historical and educational dimension to the National Unity Day observances, providing visitors with an opportunity to engage with the life and contributions of one of India’s key nation-builders.
