Hyderabad will host the inaugural edition of Hyderabad Art Week (HAW) 2026 from October 26 to November 1, bringing four galleries together for a city-wide programme designed to make contemporary art more accessible to new audiences.

The initiative brings together Dhi Contemporary, Kadari Art Gallery, Kalakriti Art Gallery and Srishti Art. Founded by gallerists Bhargavi Gundala, Supraja Rao, Rekha Lahoti and Lakshmi Nambiar, respectively, the programme aims to connect artists, students, collectors and cultural institutions through shared experiences and public engagement.

The week will feature exhibitions, gallery circuits, open studios, artist talks, workshops and curated walkthroughs across the city. Each participating gallery will present its own programme, including a solo exhibition by Gayatri Danthuri at Dhi Contemporary, an emerging-artist showcase at Kadari Art Gallery, I Know What I Am Doing at Kalakriti Art Gallery, and The Weight of Small Things, a solo exhibition by Alpana Vij, at Srishti Art.

The programme also extends beyond gallery spaces, with activities connecting visitors to artists, students and cultural institutions. By encouraging people to explore multiple venues, Hyderabad Art Week seeks to build a stronger connection between contemporary art and the city’s wider public.

The inaugural edition reflects a collaborative approach to audience development, bringing independent galleries together to create a shared platform for artistic exchange and engagement. Organisers hope the initiative will become a recurring feature of Hyderabad’s cultural calendar.
