Edinburgh will host the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting on 8 and 9 July 2027. The event will bring together senior economic and financial representatives from G20 member economies and international financial institutions.

The meeting will take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) as part of the UK’s G20 presidency. Preparations are underway in cooperation with international, national and local partners, covering facilities, technology, delegate services and security. The venue has previously hosted international political and diplomatic gatherings, including the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and sessions of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

Edinburgh International Conference Centre to Host G20 Financial Leaders in 2027

The meeting is expected to strengthen Edinburgh’s profile as a destination for international business and government events. Scottish Secretary Douglas Alexander said the event would highlight the city’s role as a global financial centre, while Edinburgh Council Leader Jane Meagher pointed to its long-standing financial services sector and experience in hosting international gatherings. EICC Board Chair Lezley Marion Cameron said the venue would work with partners to coordinate delivery of the meeting. In addition to activity generated by visiting delegations, the event is expected to support Edinburgh’s international visibility and future investment opportunities.
