The Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) has announced the theme for its 2027 Knowledge Monday programme — ‘AIMEplify: People, Business and Impact’ — alongside two new industry-led formats and a newly constituted programme committee. The event will open at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) on 15 February 2027.

The theme will explore the intersection of human connection and technology as artificial intelligence (AI) continues to transform how business events are planned and delivered. AIMEplify will focus on strengthening what already works within the industry — its people, business expertise, and the impact generated when professionals come together.

Curated by AIME in collaboration with El Kwang, Founder, BEAMexperience, Knowledge Monday will bring together industry leaders and subject matter experts to share insights, challenge conventional thinking, and offer practical takeaways for business events professionals.

Highlighting the importance of human expertise amid technological advancement, Kwang said, “Business events have always been about what happens when people come together with purpose, including the relationships they build, the ideas they exchange and the opportunities they create.”

“As technology takes on more of the execution, the value of our profession sits in the expertise people bring: the experience, judgement and creativity that turn a meeting into a business outcome. AIMEplify is about recognising that value and amplifying what is already working across our industry,” he added.

Knowledge Monday 2027 will follow two thematic arcs throughout the day. The morning sessions will focus on people through Inspire Me, Motivate Me and Look After Me and My Team. The afternoon sessions will shift towards business and impact, with Challenge Me and My Team and Show Me What’s Possible examining how technology can enhance industry capabilities while keeping human expertise at the centre.

A newly established Knowledge Monday Programme Committee, comprising representatives from corporate, agency, and consulting businesses, will help shape the programme’s topics, keynote speakers, and overall content. The committee has also incorporated feedback from curated industry focus groups.

The committee comprises

  • Ashleigh Cooper, Group Event and Engagement Manager, Charter Hall
  • Darren Chuckry, Founder and Managing Director, HK Initiative
  • Janene Wardrop, Director, Ascot Event Collective
  • Michelle Sargent, Managing Director, Events Beyond
  • Petrina Goh, Regional Account Director, BCD Meetings & Events
  • Sarah Markey-Hamm, Founder, SMH – Event Industry Consulting

Building on its established keynote programme, Knowledge Monday will introduce two interactive formats — The Debate and The Pitch — designed to encourage greater industry participation.

The Debate will bring together clients and suppliers from across the business events ecosystem to discuss a topical issue selected by the industry. Meanwhile, The Pitch will provide event professionals with a platform to present innovative ideas that could reshape the future of business events.

Silke Calder, Event Director, AIME, said the programme reflects the evolving priorities of the global business events industry.

“Knowledge Monday is where the AIME community comes to learn, question and think about what comes next,” she said.

“Technology is changing how events are planned and delivered, but the value is still created when people come together with purpose. The program will bring practical thinking, different perspectives and bold ideas into the room, and give our community the chance to share their own experience and shape the conversation,” Calder added.

Business events professionals interested in speaking at Knowledge Monday 2027 can submit an expression of interest through the official application form by 15 November 2026. Successful applicants will be notified by 11 December 2026.

Knowledge Monday will be accessible to hosted buyers, hosted media, and exhibitors, while visitor buyers can attend by purchasing a ticket upgrade.

AIME 2027 will take place at MCEC from 15–17 February 2027. Building on five consecutive years of growth, the event is expected to facilitate more than 25,000 meetings between over 800 exhibitors and more than 1,600 vetted buyers.

The exhibition floor, operating on 16–17 February, will feature pre-scheduled business appointments, networking opportunities, and experiential showcases representing the global business events industry.
