The Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2026 commenced today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, bringing together scientists, researchers, policymakers, industry leaders and innovators to discuss India’s scientific priorities and emerging technologies. The three-day event will continue until October 29.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the conclave at 5:30 PM today and address the gathering. Organised by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), under the guidance of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, ESTIC aims to strengthen collaboration across the country’s science, technology and innovation ecosystem.
The programme spans 12 thematic areas, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, advanced materials, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, climate and ocean sciences. Discussions are intended to address research priorities, strengthen national capabilities and accelerate the translation of scientific advances into practical applications.
A key feature is the technology and innovation exhibition, which will showcase emerging technologies and indigenous scientific achievements through approximately 150 deep-tech startup stalls. The exhibition will provide startups with a platform to present innovations and demonstrate their potential applications across sectors.
The conclave will also feature the Global Connect Networking Event, bringing together more than 300 invited participants from academia, research institutions and industry in India and abroad. The initiative aims to encourage international research partnerships, strengthen industry-academia collaboration and support the journey from laboratory research to market-ready solutions.
Through technical sessions, exhibitions and networking opportunities, ESTIC 2026 seeks to connect scientific research with industry requirements and contribute to India’s broader science and technology ambitions under the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
