With 789 rooms in one complex and an event space for up to 1,150 guests, Bucharest’s city centre can now host larger meetings. This gives planners one more reason to put the Romanian capital on their shortlist. Bucharest is becoming a practical choice for large meetings, conferences, and incentive programmes, and one clear sign is its strong central hotel infrastructure.

Radisson Blu Hotel Bucharest has recently added to its accommodation and now has 589 rooms. That makes it the largest Radisson Hotel Group property in South East Europe. In the same complex, Park Inn by Radisson Bucharest Hotel & Residence adds another 200 rooms.

Together, the two hotels offer 789 rooms at one address. On the meetings side, there are 11 flexible meeting rooms and the Atlas Ballroom, advanced event technology, and capacity for up to 1,150 guests.

Why scale matters to planners

These numbers matter to meeting planners for reasons that go beyond one hotel. Accommodation is often the hardest part of a large event. When delegates are spread across several hotels, planners need more transfers and more coordination, and delegates lose the informal time together that makes a conference worthwhile.

A central complex with large room blocks and its own event spaces avoids much of that. Delegates can go from their room to a plenary session, a breakout room or an evening reception without leaving the building. Planners get simpler logistics, fewer suppliers to manage and more control over the whole delegate experience.

This model suits many kinds of events: international association conferences, corporate meetings, product launches and incentive programmes that need both scale and a sense of shared experience. A city-centre location also makes it easy for groups to explore Bucharest before or after the sessions.

A destination building ambition

For Bucharest, the expansion is part of a wider trend. A destination can only compete for bigger and more international meetings if it has enough rooms, flexible venues and reliable technology in the right places. Each new addition makes the city a more realistic option for events that might otherwise go to more established European capitals.

The new capacity is one more sign that Bucharest is building what it needs for more ambitious MICE projects, and planners looking at South East Europe may want to consider it.
