The 62nd edition highlights Indian craftsmanship, emerging design talent and evolving international trade requirements as the five-day event approaches its close.

The 62nd IHGF Delhi Fair – Autumn 2026, organised by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), is scheduled to conclude today at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. Held from 13 to 17 October, the fair has brought together India’s handicrafts and lifestyle products ecosystem, with a focus on global sourcing, design innovation and export opportunities.

Inauguration Sets the Tone for Export Growth

The fair was inaugurated on 13 October by Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of Textiles, with Pabitra Margherita, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, attending as Guest of Honour. The opening highlighted priorities including expanding handicrafts exports, exploring new markets and supporting craft clusters, young entrepreneurs and first-time exporters.

As the fair progressed, design and product development remained prominent. The Young Designers’ Collective showcased emerging talent from leading Indian design institutes, while the Trend Booth and curated collections by handloom weavers and handicraft artisanpreneurs highlighted India’s diverse craft traditions and contemporary design approaches.

The programme also featured knowledge-session themes covering global buyer trends for 2027, artificial intelligence in production and sourcing, digital visibility, packaging regulations, supply-chain traceability and export promotion.

Export Readiness: Traceability and Compliance in Focus

A key development during the fair was EPCH’s launch of an EUDR Compliance Application for legal sourcing and traceability of wood and wooden products. Designed to track timber origin, transportation and supply-chain information, the application addresses the growing importance of transparency and environmental due diligence in international trade.

The exhibition’s product range spanned home décor, furniture, furnishings, textiles, lighting, gifts, fashion accessories, carpets, rugs and garden products, reflecting the breadth of India’s handicrafts and lifestyle manufacturing sector.

Day 5: Closing Outlook and Export Expectations

Ahead of the event, organisers projected participation from more than 3,000 exhibitors across 17 halls, with buyers expected from international markets. The final participation figures and business outcomes will indicate how these expectations translate into trade opportunities.

According to EPCH, Indian handicrafts exports reached ₹33,168 crore (approximately US$3.754 billion) in FY2025–26. Against this backdrop, the fair’s emphasis on sourcing, design and compliance reflects the priorities shaping the sector’s global competitiveness.

As the event approaches its close, the broader challenge for Indian exporters remains clear: combining the strength of traditional craftsmanship with innovative design, market intelligence and responsible sourcing to meet evolving international buyer expectations.
