After more than 18 years producing live events, the Blaze team has seen many of the same challenges surface again and again for clients, event planners and operations teams. Volo grew from those experiences and from clients asking us to solve specific problems in the room.
Built around Blaze’s aim of “connecting more people to each session,” Volo can work alongside existing AV providers and event platforms. It can serve session rooms and noisy expo floors at the same time. Attendees use a QR code to access live captions, multilingual translation, assistive listening and Overflow Anywhere™ on their own devices—without an app download. They can listen through their own earbuds, with no dedicated headsets for event teams to manage. A sponsor logo can appear in the attendee interface, giving organisers a potential revenue opportunity. AI Session reCaps™ provide written summaries after sessions.

“What makes Volo effective is the combination of technology and real event experience. We are already in the session rooms, already working with the AV and already handling real-time audio and video. That allows us to use those workflows to solve challenges around translation, accessibility, overflow and post-event content—while using custom vocabulary and human quality checks to make sure the technology serves the people in the room. AI should enhance the human experience, not replace it,” said Joe Christensen, Founder/Owner & Event Producer at Blaze Streaming Media.
Blaze and Volo have supported Informa across many events, including Black Hat USA, GDC Festival of Gaming, HIMSS and Data Center World. Their broader portfolio also includes Gainsight Pulse.
At Informa’s Black Hat USA, Volo supported Arsenal presentations on the expo floor, helping attendees follow the content amid surrounding noise. Across Black Hat USA 2026, 2,087 people used Volo, generating 8,262 room joins and 6,429 language selections. At GDC Festival of Gaming 2026, Volo supported a session delivered entirely in Mandarin; attendees could select a language to read or listen to while the presenter spoke naturally.
Blaze and the production team configure Volo in advance for planned uses across rooms and expo areas. Its flexible workflow brings captions, translation, assistive listening and overflow together, so operations teams can coordinate those services through one vendor rather than four. That can reduce handoffs and help control costs while accommodating the event’s existing AV and specific needs.
