奥克兰获得2034年第50届国际配位化学会议主办权

New Zealand has secured the hosting rights for the 50^th International Conference on Coordination Chemistry (ICCC50), which will take place in Auckland in 2034.

The six-day global conference will be held at the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC), and is expected to attract between 1,000 and 1,200 international delegates, including researchers, academics, and industry representatives.

The successful national bid was led by professor Christian Hartinger from the University of Auckland, alongside co-chairs professor Sally Brooker and professor James Crowley from the University of Otago, and professor Robin Fulton from Victoria University of Wellington. The effort was backed by the Auckland Convention Bureau (ACB), Tourism New Zealand Business Events, the NZICC, and university event teams.

“This was a genuine all-of-New Zealand effort,” said Professor Hartinger. “ICCC50 represents much more than a conference. It is an opportunity to inspire the next generation of coordination chemists, strengthen international partnerships, and showcase New Zealand’s research excellence, innovation, and unique culture to colleagues from around the world.”

The win reinforces New Zealand’s growing profile in the scientific sector. Ahead of the 2034 event, Hartinger’s team will also host the Asian Coordination Chemistry Conference (ACCC12) at the University of Auckland in 2028.
