The conference took place at the University of Ottawa from 16 to 19 June 2026, following its previous edition in The Hague in 2024. Organised by the Environmental Peacebuilding Association and the University of Ottawa, it brought together experts working at the intersection of environment, conflict and peace. Through H2O, the two destinations shared knowledge and maintained continuity with the organisers, combining The Hague’s international Peace and Justice network with Ottawa’s governmental, diplomatic and academic connections.

H2O Partnership Connects International Associations with Expertise in Ottawa and The Hague

Launched in 2019, H2O brings together the two internationally focused capital cities through joint sales activities, shared research, coordinated client introductions and engagement with association buyers at events such as IMEX. At the breakfast, representatives discussed how this approach can support congresses in Europe and North America by providing access to local expertise, continuity between host destinations and opportunities for knowledge exchange. Ottawa Tourism and The Hague Convention Bureau will continue to identify opportunities to support international associations through their combined networks and complementary strengths.
