India’s business travel spending is projected to reach US$ 46.9 billion in 2026, up 8.7 per cent year-on-year, positioning it as the world’s eighth-largest business travel market and third largest in APAC. The sector’s economic impact extends across aviation, hospitality, accommodation, meetings and events, ground transportation, and a wider network of suppliers and service providers. Growth is being supported by manufacturing investment, supply-chain diversification, and increasing foreign direct investment, creating greater demand as companies build commercial relationships and expand regional operations.

GBTA is strengthening its presence in India alongside this expansion. Following its APAC Conference, which welcomed more than 1,100 delegates, the association is expanding education and professional-development initiatives across the region.

In early 2027, GBTA will hold its largest-ever India conference in Mumbai, bringing business travel professionals together for education, networking, industry collaboration, sustainability, traveller experience, procurement, and discussions around emerging technologies.
