The exhibition will return to Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from 10–14 February 2028, with organisers projecting more than 2,000 exhibitors and over six lakh visitors.

PLASTINDIA 2028, the international plastics exhibition themed “Powering Viksit Bharat”, has officially opened space bookings following its launch at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai on 17 October. Organised by Plastindia Exhibitions and Trade Promotion Council, an initiative of the Plastindia Foundation, the exhibition will take place from 10 to 14 February 2028 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

A major announcement at the launch was the decision to move PLASTINDIA from its earlier three-year cycle to a two-year exhibition cycle, giving the plastics industry more frequent opportunities to showcase technology, develop business partnerships and explore emerging markets.

Technology, Manufacturing and Sustainability in Focus

Addressing the launch, Tejveer Singh, Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, highlighted the growing role of plastics across India’s economy and the importance of positioning the exhibition as a showcase of the country’s industrial capabilities.

Nikhil Meswani, Chairman of the National Advisory Board for PLASTINDIA 2028, urged manufacturers to invest in advanced processing machinery, automation, digitalisation and modern quality-control systems. He also highlighted the potential of artificial intelligence to improve operational efficiency, reduce material wastage and support predictive maintenance.

The exhibition’s broader agenda will also encompass sustainability, recycling, circularity and workforce skills, reflecting the industry’s efforts to strengthen manufacturing competitiveness while addressing environmental responsibilities.

Exhibition Scale and Participation

Organisers expect PLASTINDIA 2028 to cover a gross exhibition area of 540,000 sq. metres, bringing together more than 2,000 exhibitors, over 600,000 visitors and participants from more than 90 countries. These are projections announced ahead of the event.

The organisers have also announced that participation rates will remain at the launch rates offered for PLASTINDIA 2026, with the special pricing available until 31 December 2027.

With space bookings now open, PLASTINDIA 2028 is positioning itself as a platform for manufacturers, processors, technology providers and international buyers to explore new business opportunities and the next phase of development in India’s plastics industry.
