Nusantara International Convention Exhibition(NICE)推进 GSTC 认证,融入蓝色经济战略
NICE advances green strategy with GSTC Certification and Blue Economy integration
位于雅加达北部 PIK2 的 Nusantara International Convention Exhibition(NICE)进入运营第二年,正推进成为印度尼西亚首个获得全球可持续旅游理事会(GSTC)MICE 场馆标准认证的场馆。
Entering its second year of operation, the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE) is set to become Indonesia’s first facility to achieve certification under the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) MICE Standard for Venues.
Located in northern Jakarta’s coastal township of PIK2, the venue aims to transform environmental responsibility from a basic operational policy into a core competitive advantage, helping to redefine Indonesia’s business events sector on the regional stage.

Since its soft opening in August 2025, NICE has tested the capabilities of one of Indonesia’s largest purpose-built event spaces. Having welcomed approximately 104,000 visitors across 55 events through mid-2026, the venue is now shifting focus from testing capacity to establishing formal operating benchmarks.
Ryan Adrian, managing director of NICE, said: “The next challenge is not simply to host more events, but to help define how the next generation of events should be hosted.”
This strategy encompasses a stronger commitment to sustainability, more sophisticated technology, expanded international opportunities, and an elevated delegate experience designed to boost Indonesia’s competitiveness as a regional business events destination.
“The goal is not to become a venue that is merely ‘greener,’ but one in which sustainability is fully integrated into how events are planned, produced, operated, and evaluated,” he added.
To achieve this, NICE is working with sustainability advisor Greenview to conduct independent evaluations measuring management systems, socio-economic community benefits, and environmental impact reduction.
This operational drive is closely tied to the venue’s location and Indonesia’s national Blue Economy framework. NICE is a multi-year development project within PIK2, a growing waterfront township and emerging economic hub on Jakarta’s northern coast. The broader development integrates business, hospitality, residential, lifestyle, and leisure components into a connected coastal ecosystem.
This positioning enables NICE to establish itself as part of a broader Green Development within a Blue Economy setting. Supported by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), the Blue Economy model emphasises sustainable economic growth along coastal corridors.
To bring this coastal alignment directly to delegates, the venue is also launching the NICE Coral Reef Initiative – an educational platform designed to integrate marine conservation into the conference and exhibition environment.
Alongside its environmental targets, NICE is preparing to roll out digital infrastructure enhancements as it moves towards 2027. Planned additions include artificial intelligence applications for visitor flow management, real-time venue analytics, intelligent navigation, and streamlined registration systems intended to simplify operations for event organisers.
“Our vision for NICE is not simply to become a place where large events happen, but to become part of the growth story of Indonesia’s MICE industry and the destination in which we operate,” Ryan said.
