Announced at IMEX America, the move puts accessible participation at the center of the event experience.
SINGAPORE - Snapsight has made live text transcription and translation free for event organizers. The company announced the change at IMEX America in Las Vegas on October 14, 2026, and it applies to every event on the platform from that date. There is nothing to apply for and no card is required.
The announcement is built around a simple idea: in 2026, tools that help people follow a conversation should be part of the basics. By removing the cost of live text translation, Snapsight wants organizers to plan language access into their events from the outset, rather than treat it as an extra for the main stage alone.
"The basics should be free. In 2026, translation technology should be a basic part of the event experience," said Vamshi Velmajala, CEO and Co-Founder of Snapsight. "When people make the effort to be in the room, they should be able to follow the conversation. We want organizers to build that into their events from the start."
Attendees scan a QR code or open a session link, choose one of the languages enabled for that session, and read the speaker's words on their own phones as the talk happens. No app download is required. Organizers can enable up to 10 languages per session from a supported set of 99, and each attendee picks their own. Speech is recognised in about 200 milliseconds and the translated text follows phrase by phrase, so a panel discussion reads as a conversation rather than a single block of text. When a speaker moves between languages, even within a sentence, the text keeps up.
The free offering covers every room at once: main stages, breakout rooms and workshops, each with its own audio feed and QR code. It can help attendees who prefer to read along, people who are deaf or hard of hearing, and those who find it difficult to follow the language spoken on stage. Online and hybrid participants use the same session link. Snapsight describes live text as a baseline for participation that sits alongside the interpretation and accessibility services an event may already provide.
Setup uses a laptop connected to the room's audio mixer and a reliable internet connection. Teams can test the audio feed and attendee access before the event and prepare vocabulary such as speaker names and technical terms. The free plan covers up to 100 sessions a year per organizer account, where a session is one agenda item of up to two hours, and there is no trial period.
Free access covers live text transcription and translation. Translated audio, delivered through attendees' own earbuds, is available at $10 per language, per session. Transcript downloads, live takeaways, Idea Clouds and session summaries are part of Snapsight Pro, and Remix turns captured sessions into reports, decks and posts after the event. Organizers can explore the offering, including its usage terms, at www.snapsight.com/en/translate.
About Snapsight
Snapsight is AI software for live events. One audio feed from each room gives every attendee live text, translation, key takeaways, an Idea Cloud and a summary on their own phone, from a QR code or link with no app. Afterwards, Remix turns the same sessions into post-event reports, sponsor reports and decks, and Speaker Remix gives each speaker a branded card and post to share. Snapsight launched at IMEX Frankfurt in May 2024, is used by organizers including Economist Impact, Informa Tech and PCMA, and powers Freeman's Key Takeaways for live events. The company is headquartered in Singapore.
